A Year in Review: 2024

By Dale McCann

This past year has been incredible for our Section. We began the year by solidifying our Section’s brand and imaging through a series of zoom calls between the officers and deciding what we wanted the look of Section G18N to be. The website underwent a complete overhaul, the social media platforms now follow a uniform stylistic template, and our Section now has brand cohesion

NLS. Section Chief Dale and immediate past Section Chief Jone both serve on the Gateway Region training team and travel around the Region, delivering NLS program to the Arrowmen who are looking to improve their local chapter, lodge, and even section. Lucky for us, the Region will be hosting an NLS here in Southern California this November. You can learn more at this link.

Another new thing we tried last year was the creation of a Conclave Music Video. The song we chose to parody was Katy Perry’s Firework, with the lyrics reworked around the “Arrowman” theme. The song was a huge success and was played friday night of Conclave. The conclave anthem will return this year.

Conclave and SOS were both massive successes, with our conclave being held at Foothills Middle School in Arcadia. We had 201 participants and countless memories were made. We were even so lucky to have the 2024 National Vice Chief, John Andrew Segebarth, visit us for the weekend. He provided trainings and interacted with Arrowmen all weekend long. SOS, or the Section Officer’s Seminar, is the annual gathering for Section Officers across the region. We were lucky enough to have it local to us down here in SoCal.

This year is sure to be an even greater success!
